Positive Casing LL with Wellesley

Hemispheres (36/1-4) – Top hole

What happened:

o At 281m conductor couldn’t pass due to the tight spot observed when drilling there. Attempted to work the string with 5-10 MT down weight and skidded rig 10m in every direction. Did this for 2.5 hrs. In the end, the down weight were increased to 20 MT. When we were about to POOH with conductor, the rig was skidded above well centre, still applying 20 MT down weight, and suddenly the conductor passed the restriction.

What was planned:

Run 30″ conductor to TD of 307 meter. It was during drilling of 36″ hole observed slow drilling and tight spot at 282-283m.

What was learned:

That applying steady down weight at the tight spot while skidding rig is a possibility to pass restriction.

What actions are required:

Since this was a tight spot observed while drilling, we could have just reamed through that small interval when POOH once.
